The African Think Tank (TATT)—a non-profit organization dedicated to uniting Africans and friends of Africa for lasting impact—proudly announces that several new changemakers have been added to the line-up for its second annual Ubuntu Fundraising Gala slated for November 15, including the Mayor of Grand Prairie, Texas Ron Jensen as the event’s Co-Chair, Project Runway alum and award-winning fashion designer Venny Etienne, the multi award-winning Co-Founder of WangaWoman, and President & CEO of Essence Ventures Caroline A. Wanga as the gala’s Keynote, and so many more.

Set to take place on November 15, from 6:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., the Ubuntu Gala will be held at the Ruthe Jackson Center in the city of Grand Prairie, TX. The evening will include a VIP reception, dinner of authentic, gourmet African cuisine, a vibrant fashion show, electrifying entertainment and performances (including beats by DJ Queen Agnes), an inspiring keynote by Wanga, and a TATT After Dark after-party that will go until midnight.

“Ubuntu”, which translates to “I am, because we are”, is a concept deeply rooted in African philosophy. The adage is a hallmark for TATT, and one that embodies the belief in shared humanity and community spirit. In the same essence, the Ubuntu Gala promises an enriching evening of vibrant color, rhythm, and style, further fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of all African cultures across the diaspora.

“Our greatest strength has always been unity, and the Ubuntu Gala embodies that truth,” said Dr. Sidonie Niba, Founder and CEO of The African Think Tank. “With visionary leaders like Mayor Ron Jensen, designer Venny Etienne, Caroline Wanga, and so many more lending their voices, this evening is proof of what’s possible when culture, leadership, and community move as one. Together, we are building bridges that spark transformation across the African diaspora and beyond.”

“The Ubuntu Gala is a reminder that our greatest power is found in unity,” Venny Etienne, Founder of clothing line LeVenity adds. “It is more than a celebration of art, it is a testament to the beauty that emerges when culture, community, and spirit move as one. I am deeply humbled to contribute to a night that reflects the truth of our shared humanity.”

Even larger names with even bolder voices have gathered in support of TATT and the Ubuntu Gala, including this year’s emcee Nde Nkimbeng AKA “The Engineer MC”; Event Chair Akwete Tyehimba, Owner and Co-Founder of Pan-African Connection; Councilman and Deputy Mayor Pro Tem of Grand Prairie, Texas Junior Ezeonu; and Designer Aziz Ben Soumahoro of Noir Model and Founder of The Art of Patterns, who will showcase his designs through a highly anticipated creative presentation.

“My heart is full and I am thrilled for the opportunity to chair this gala,” said Tyehimba. “The work that the African Think Tank does throughout the nation is so important, and critical to our advancement as a community. It truly makes me happy to be a part of this monumental event, because overall that’s why we’re here—to transform lives.”

“I am excited to support the Ubuntu Gala,” said Ezeonu. “The African Think Tank has been a beacon of transformation for the African diaspora not just in Dallas/Fort Worth, but in cities across the United States.”

The Ubuntu Gala will be from 6:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. at The Ruthe Jackson Center located at 3113 S Carrier Parkway, Grand Prairie, Texas 75052. Guests are encouraged to wear regal African or formal attire. The celebration will continue at TATT After Dark—an exclusive after-party for all ticketholders, featuring dancing, signature cocktails, and vibrant networking from 10:30 p.m. to midnight. Sponsorship levels range from $250 to $15,000, along with general admission, VIP, and VIP + Meet and Greet (with Caroline A. Wanga) tickets. All proceeds will benefit the programs and initiatives of The African Think Tank.
