“Ubuntu”, which translates to “I am, because we are”, is a concept deeply rooted in African philosophy. The adage is a hallmark for TATT, and one that embodies the belief in shared humanity and community spirit. In the same essence, the Ubuntu Gala promises an enriching evening of vibrant color, rhythm, and style, further fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of all African cultures across the diaspora.

“For many individuals of African descent and friends of Africa, connecting with African heritage has often felt distant and out of reach,” said Dr. Sidonie Niba, Founder and CEO of The African Think Tank. “That’s why bringing the Ubuntu Gala to the Dallas-Fort Worth area for the second year in a row is so powerful—and having Caroline Wanga join us as our keynote speaker makes it even more extraordinary. Caroline embodies the brilliance, resilience, and authenticity we aim to uplift. Her presence will undoubtedly inspire and ignite a deeper connection to our shared identity and purpose. This is more than a gala—it’s a homecoming for the soul of our community.”

In addition to Caroline A. Wanga, big names have gathered in support of TATT and the Ubuntu Gala, including this year’s Event Chair Akwete Tyehimba, Owner and Co-Founder of Pan-African Connection; Mayor of Grand Prairie, Texas Ron Jensen; Councilman and Deputy Mayor Pro Tem of Grand Prairie, Texas Junior Ezeonu; and Award-winning fashion designer and Project Runway Season 17 star Venny Etienne.

“My heart is full and I am thrilled for the opportunity to chair this gala,” said Tyehimba. “The work that the African Think Tank does throughout the nation is so important, and critical to our advancement as a community. It truly makes me happy to be a part of this monumental event, because overall that’s why we’re here—to transform lives.”

“I am excited to support the Ubuntu Gala,” said Ezeonu. “The African Think Tank has been a beacon of transformation for the African diaspora not just in Dallas/Fort Worth, but in cities across the United States.”

The Ubuntu Gala will be from 6:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. at The Ruthe Jackson Center located at 3113 S Carrier Parkway, Grand Prairie, Texas 75052. Guests are encouraged to wear regal African or formal attire. Sponsorship levels range from $250 to $15,000 and individual tickets will be released at a later date. Stay tuned for more announcements, reveals and details for this much-awaited event. All proceeds will benefit the programs and initiatives of The African Think Tank.
