Whether for trick, or for treat — if you have not discovered the full-bodied, sensual taste of tequila, then it’s high time that you did. Halloween may be about the “boo”, but for Austin thrill seekers and tequila connoisseurs, it will be all about the booze. Tequila Fest Fright Night kicks off October 31st from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Casa Chapala and this event is tailor made just for you.

Austin Tequila Fest

Come alone or with friends to sip 100% Agave tequilas, mescals, and sotols. The event promises to be action packed for novices, enthusiasts, and connoisseurs spiced with Latin music and dance. Each guest will receive a snifter glass, Agave trail guide, 10 tasting tickets, and a swag bag full of goodies.

Take complete advantage of this opportunity to sample different spirits in a warm atmosphere and in a relaxed environment, where you are free to explore the exciting world of tequila. Experience a Halloween like no other as you first-hand take part of an elite group of tasters that understand and value the beloved tequila spirit.

And lest we forget — come hungry. We suggest arriving early to order a sumptuous dinner, or stay later for fresh salsa and guacamole created right at your table based wholly on your palate. The word “authentic” does not do the Casa Chapala cuisine any justice, but we highly recommend tempting your tastebuds with any one of their delectable dishes.

Casa Chapala Lupe

But back to Tequila Fest. Hosted by the founder of the Austin Tequila Society and Casa Chapala owner, Guadalupe “Lupe” Barragan (pictured above) — Tequila Fest was birthed out of Lupe’s love for the aromatic spirit, and symbolically takes place close to “Dia de los Muertos” (Day of the Dead). Facilitating the creation of this wonderfully communal and cultural experience is Laura Valentino-Romero, the event coordinator that Lupe affectionately calls the “High Priestess of Tequila.”

This marks the 6th year for Tequila Fest — citing a charted growth from 100 guests at its inception to 500 guests currently, with even higher attendance numbers projected for the future.
