Black Friday? What Black Friday? Target reported record-breaking online sales for Thanksgiving Day, kicking off a strong Black Friday weekend, with hopes for even larger profits throughout the holiday season.
Target.com granted access Thursday to all of its doorbuster deals early Thanksgiving morning. The consumer demand beat out 2014’s record-setting year for Target, with mostly electronics driving top sales.
“Target got a head start going into Black Friday with the record-breaking launch of Adele’s new album and our ’10 Days of Deals’ promotion. The momentum continued with our Black Friday presale, and on Thanksgiving, we saw millions of shopper take advantage of great offers online and in our stores. Overall, the response from our guests has been very positive, with some of the best days we’ve seen on Target.com,” said Brian Cornell, Chairman of the Board and CEO of Target.
“We expect to see the demand continue throughout the weekend and into December as we offer more savings on the year’s most popular gifts, including Star Wars and Apple products.”

Top-selling items for Target’s Thanksgiving pre-Black Friday sale were Apple iPads (an iPad was sold every second throughout the day on Thanksgiving); the Apple watch; gaming consoles; TV’s (the 55” Westinghouse at $249.99 was the top selling TV); movies (guests bought more than 3 million on Thanksgiving); toys (LEGO, Barbie, Disney Princess & Star Wars); a three-foot stuffed teddy bear priced at $10 (some stores sold out in minutes); and Beats Solo 2 headphones.
And the savings continues. Target will continue its “10 Days of Deals” through Tuesday, December 1. Check out the deals below for your holiday purchases.
- Friday, November 27: Spend $75 or more and receive a 20% discount to use on a future purchase on any day between December 4 and December 13
- Saturday, November 28: $50 off holiday shop purchase of $100 or more
- Sunday, November 29: Buy two, get one free action figures and fashion dolls
- Monday, November 30: 15% off Target.com
- Tuesday, December 1: 25% off all beauty
