The year 2020 has had its ups, and indescribably has had its downs — but for many it’s been a year of opportunity. For up-and-coming influencer, model, former NFL hopeful and serial entrepreneur LeNard “Nardi” Meyers, 2020 has been the year where he’s put his mind, body and energy in check.

With a dedicated following on social media, the newly crowned “Best Model of 2020” took weekly to Instagram Live to check-in with his followers, to see how they were faring during the pandemic. With the onslaught of unemployment, depression and other mental health issues that has ensued over the past year, Nardi began to uplift his virtual community with a series of fun, vibrant chats that he called “Energy Check.”

Selections from the new Energy Check fitness fashion line

Garnering a cult following, Energy Check became more than just a hashtag — it organically became a brand. And with its growing popularity, Nardi took the social media concept and launched on October 17th a full collection of hoodies, tees, hats, athletic apparel and more under the new Energy Check label.

Sponsored by Powerhandz, eCarra, Think Three Media, Kruto Vodka and more — the Energy Check collection launched at Mockingbird Station’s Centre to a socially distanced crowd of professional athletes, influencers, models, celebrities and more. Guests enjoyed vodka cocktails, appetizers from The Island Spot and beats by DJ She Real, as they shopped the latest in athleisure wear. Spotted in the crowd was Action with Compassion Founder and fashion influencer Kim Olusanya, hair and beauty veteran Kaye Flewellen, Fashion Den owner Vicki Smith-Lockhart and many others.
