Adele is back — and it’s like she never missed a beat. While it’s often teased that good things come to those who wait, the recent drop of the soulful songstress’ latest single screams that Christmas hath come early.
As if a long-awaited answer to many prayers, the Grammy award-winning crooner re-emerged gracefully onto the scene last week, with a smash hit single and music video entitled “Hello.”
Unsurprisingly, fans and social networks exploded over the release, applauding the 27-year-old singer’s return, and praising the new single while simultaneously pressing repeat.
The transparently candid artist took to her personal website to describe her upcoming album, alluding to maturity, growth, and self-reflection – a far cry from the self-brooding and somber 21 record the artist previously departed fans with.
“My last record was a break-up record and if I had to label this one I would call it a make-up record,” Adele writes.
“I’m making up with myself. Making up for lost time. Making up for everything I ever did and never did. But I haven’t got time to hold on to the crumbs of my past like I used to. What’s done is done…25 is about getting to know who I’ve become without realizing. And I’m sorry it took so long, but you know, life happened.”
Commemorating every album with an age, Adele’s newest record 25, marks a powerful return following her four-year hiatus, and one that will undoubtedly burst up the charts.
