Fashion X Austin and Bernina Present: BLANC on November 6

Fashion X Austin and Bernina will return on Friday, November 6^th to present BLANC, a one-night fashion-flooded experience featuring live fashion shows, a presentation of the Bernina Blanc Design Challenge Winner, and of course – unbeatable shopping from sought after local vendors.

Austin’s Fair Market will stylishly set the scene for the fashion-packed evening, spotlighting several showcases by Texas-based designers (SoLa, Mysterious by NPN, M.V.C.C., Rare Trends, Wildflowers Boutique, Adrienne Yunger), along with an announcement of the Bernina Blanc Design Challenge winner.

Sixty designer entrants competed in the Bernina Blanc Design Challenge, designing a winter white creation inspired by the Swiss Alps (Bernina’s home country). A national panel of judges featuring Dallas personality Courtney Kerr, The Bachelor’s Catherine Lowe, noted fashion blogger Jane Aldridge of Sea of Shoes, Michelle Lee and more, helped to narrow the competitor pool down.

After careful selection and consideration, the talented list was finalized to 12: Alisha Contreras (Austin), Samantha Plasencia (Austin), Dina Chavez (Austin), Venny Etienne (Dallas), Amanda Scarlett Smith (San Francisco), Hannah Leonard (Austin), Marissa Marsh (Austin), Kraig Pieper (Chicago), Neil Marek (Dallas), Stefanie Bell (Austin), Cristal Martinez (Austin), and Kassie Carrell (New Braunfels).

The winner will be crowned at BLANC, and will receive a package valued at more than $20,000 including machinery by Bernina, production and online sales by Trunkist.com, online courses by FBA360, and a future runway show at Austin Fashion Week or Fashion X Dallas.

Even more is in store for this one-night fashion spectacular, but much has been left to the imagination. A $35 ticket unlocks access to an open bar, unlimited vendor shopping, and complete fashion overload – Fashion X Austin style. Guests are invited to come chicly clad in black or white, and to further peruse the space by visiting the Blanc Beauty Bar for holiday hair, makeup, and nail tips. Participating vendors will also offer “blanc” items for sale, with a portion of proceeds to benefit the Austin Fashion Fund.
