DESCRIPTION:One Happy Camper Foundation (OHCF)\, a 501(c)(3)\, will present The Wonderful Counselor on Saturday\, October 25\, 2025\, at the Irving Arts Center with performances at 2:00 PM and 7:00 PM. The original stage play with music invites audiences into an honest\, hopeful conversation about family\, counseling\, caregiving\, and dementia\, pairing powerful storytelling with simple\, take-home resources for families. \nThe Wonderful Counselor follows a family working through buried secrets\, sibling tensions\, and the realities of aging. The production stars David Michael Wyatt\, the Houston-based singer\, songwriter\, and actor known as “The Velvet Voice” for his smooth falsetto. Wyatt has performed with Stevie Wonder\, Kelly Price\, and Tobe Nwigwe\, and his music has been featured in the NBA finals and on Jimmy Kimmel’s Late Night TV. \nUsed Courtesy of: One Happy Camper Foundation\nDesigned with community impact in mind\, the production features a brief in-room “caregiver moment” — a lobby Care Corner with QR codes to free planning tools\, and a post-show recap for attendees who opt in. \nA portion of the proceeds will benefit: \n· Performing-arts programs serving autistic students\, nurturing self-expression and confidence through creativity; and \n· African Americans Against Alzheimer’s\, honoring elders and raising awareness around dementia in communities disproportionately impacted.
