Whoever claimed that food and fashion doesn’t mix — well, get ready to be proven wrong. In the first ever of its kind, Dallas will welcome its inaugural Food In Fashion fundraiser to 3015 at Trinity Groves on February 15, 2017, where both the culinary and fashion industries will artfully collide.
Think Project Runway meets Top Chef — as notable restaurants, chefs, caterers, retailers, fashion designers, and more pair up collaboratively to create attire for their model out of edible, drinkable, or restaurant service items. Once adorned in all things “culinary chic”, the model will grace the runway in front of guests, and strike a pose in a deliciously vibrant atmosphere sure to spark voluminous selfies, #foodie #inspo, and a mountainous attraction of social media buzz.
Presented by the Greater Dallas Restaurant Association, this innovative event will not only bridge the gap between the food service and fashion industries, but will donate proceeds to The Texas Restaurant Association Education Foundation (a 501(c)(3) non-profit), and the culinary education programs within the Dallas Independent School District (DISD).
While the event guarantees to capture the artistic essence of both food and fashion in their uniquely exhibited forms, the inaugural extravaganza will also team up DISD Trustees and students from the district’s culinary education programs to compete on-site determining the event’s most popular gourmet appetizer.
But wait, there’s even more to savor in store…
While delectably dining and feasting your eyes and palates on culinary couture, a ten-package silent auction will be up for bids during the evening, to top off the fun and festive fête.
Interested food service and fashion industry professionals are encouraged to participate by either visiting the Food In Fashion website at FoodInFashion.Org or by emailing Randall White at [email protected]. The deadline for partner commitment forms must be received by December 1, 2016.
