This Mediterranean Mecca is an Absolute Must for your DFW Lunch and Dine List
Travel up north the Dallas Tollway and you are guaranteed to encounter quintessential hotspots that foodies deem faves. Weighing in as a new (yet addictively tastier) contender, is the iconic, authentic cuisine of Terra Mediterranean.
One of the latest additions to the restaurant district at The Shops at Willow Bend — it’s the fully loaded, freshly prepared lunch buffet that’s making tastebuds go wild. While Terra boasts roughly 6,800 square feet with an upstairs and downstairs patio, and a large lounge area, it’s the never ending buffet that beckons one’s attention.
Hummus, gyros, fish kabobs, and more, the options are a’plenty for the choosy DFW eater. Thankfully, both meat lovers and vegetarians can find satiating solace with what we are coining as one of the top lunch buffets for the DFW Metroplex. Yeah, we just said that.
Chew on this top pick: the saffron chicken — tender, sautĆ©ed chicken and mushrooms nestled in a creamy curry sauce and served on a bed of saffron rice. We highly recommend piling this on your plate, and then piling it on some more. Your stomach will thank us later.
A vegetarian’s haven, this Mediterranean menu reimagines veggies beyond the traditional salad. From the vegetarian moussaka (eggplant, tomato, onion, garlic, jalapeno and chickpea) to its freshly prepared hummus — another one of our top nibbles is the roasted cauliflower. In a league of its own, we may have had one, ok two…alright three servings of these lightly tossed (yet perfectly spiced) florets in our first sitting.
A final must is the Zattar bread — a flavorful blend of spices and olive oil atop lightly toasted pita bread. One taste of this Middle Eastern delight and you’ll be dreaming of Terra well before you leave. Circle back for dinner and enjoy even finer fare, ranging from grilled sea bass, lamb chops, and oven-roasted trout. Need we say more?
Indulge in Terra’s new Happy Hour menu featuring a select bar menu, $1 off Beers, House Wine at $4, Sangria for $2 off (yes please), and $5 House Mojitos every Monday to Friday, 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
This local gem rounds out the latest of establishments popping up at the new Shops at Willow Bend restaurant district, joining its neighboring institutions: Knife (created by Chef John Tesar), Mexican Bar Company Cocina, Whistle Britches, and Ascension coffee shop.
