Hollywood sweetheart and celebrated actress, Anne Hathaway, is back for yet another fashion-inspired film – one set to rival her encore-worthy, stiletto-strutting appearance in 2006’s The Devil Wears Prada.
In her new upcoming comedic film, The Intern (hitting theaters September 25), the 32-year-old actress stars alongside veteran Robert De Niro, in her role as Jules Ostin — the Founder and head honcho of a successful online fashion site. De Niro plays 70-year-old widower Ben Whittaker, who emerges from retirement as the senior intern for Ostin’s fashion company.
As comedic as it seems to have a seasoned retiree re-entering the workforce, and in the fashion industry at that — an old dog can certainly teach a millenial girl new tricks in not just business, but life. In an earlier interview about the film Hathaway comments,
“I don’t always relate to my characters, but Jules I really did. It’s hard to be a person making mistakes in the spotlight, and I related to her on that level. But she is someone who is handling her stress pretty well.”
Promising bits of humor, sentimental moments, character reflections and more, this newest film (directed by Nancy Meyers) may quickly rank as a new fashion fave. With appearances by Rene Russo and Maroon 5 heartthrob Adam Levine, this fun, Fall film proves that while trends may often fade, “experience never gets old.”
