Love is still in the air, but the pandemic has forced us to reimagine our gatherings, and notably one of the year’s most romantic of holidays, Valentine’s Day. For the Rooftop Cinema Club, we’re encouraged to harken back to a time where drive-in movies were a thing and watching your favorite film or two was only a car hop away.
The latest in pandemic-safe entertainment, the Rooftop Cinema Club has now brought to Dallas, The Drive-In at The Central — which is a larger than life drive-in cinema adjacent Central Expressway just north of downtown.
Upon entry, vehicles are guided to their socially distanced spaces. Audio for the film is filtered through FM radio so that guests can remain inside their vehicles at all times. Those with a hatchback are encouraged to recline in the back, watch the film under the stars and enjoy a relaxing cinematic experience.
Concessions can be ordered from within your vehicle via a QR code given at entry, and can be picked up safely when ready. Food trucks are also available on site and guests are also encouraged to bring their favorite movie sips and snacks.
From Breakfast at Tiffany’s to Queen and Slim to Crazy Rich Asians, the Drive-In at The Central is the perfect Valentine’s (or Galentine’s) date night companion for those missing out on the quintessential movie night.
The Notebook (6:45PM) and Crazy Rich Asians (9:45PM) will be screening on Valentine’s Day so make your reservations early! The Movie Buddy pass is good for 2 guests in a vehicle for $26.00 and The Movie Squad pass is good for 3 or more guests in a vehicle for $36.00. Passes can be reserved at rooftopcinemaclub.com/central.
