Universal Standard, a size-inclusive, high-quality, fashion-forward label for women sizes 10 – 28 will be headed to the Big D on a mission. As a part of its 2-month 12-city tour, the highly acclaimed brand will be conducting an independent trunk show plus a model search on October 18th in partnership with New York’s prestigious Lions Model Management.
Thereafter, Universal Standard will trek to Nordstrom’s NorthPark Center to do a 3-day pop-up experience featuring personal style fittings, style tips, exclusive items, and a personal meet and greet with co-founders Polina Veksler and Alexandra Waldman.
The cries have been heard and for today’s woman the answer is here. Silencing frustrations surrounding inclusivity for the average woman in fashion, Universal Standard now hails to change the way the plus-size community is viewed, addressed, and clothed. Featured by Vogue, Forbes, WWD, Business of Fashion, InStyle, Glamour, and many others, the eponymous label is taking the reins and transforming the aesthetic for today’s woman.
67% of American women are between sizes 10 to 28, yet the industry is still taking a slow climb towards the servicing of the demographic. According to Fast Company, Universal Standard “may have just solved the biggest problem in plus-size fashion.” And whether that’s through cutting edge trends, policies catering to fluctuating weight gain or loss, and more, Universal Standard is plainly stated pushing — the standard.
THE UNIVERSAL STANDARD NORDSTROM NORTHPARK CENTER POP-UP
The Universal Standard squad will be at Nordstrom NorthPark Center from October 19th to 21st, from 11am to 7pm. Women are invited to come out, shop, and experience the Universal Standard collection in person.
In addition to the pop-up, guests are invited to meet the founders for a Q&A session, style tips, and personalized style sessions. Exclusive items will be on-site to pre-order and purchase, along with a chance to win a Fall Starter Kit. And did we mention that you can walk away hands-free? Yes, all items purchased will be delivered directly to you without hassle.
THE UNIVERSAL STANDARD MODEL SEARCH AND TRUNK SHOW
Do you have what it takes? Is it your time to shine? Ready to flaunt your curves? While visiting the Big D, the Universal Standard team will be on the hunt for fresh models who “challenge traditional beauty standards” for a future campaign. In conjunction with The Lions modeling agency, an open casting call will be held on October 18th at The Lawley Art Group (1507 Dragon Street, Dallas, TX 75207) from 12pm to 3pm.
Women sizes 10 to 28 are encouraged to attend. The chosen candidates will be flown to New York City to meet with The Lions agency’s top modeling agents. The boutique’s agency clients include a plethora of world renowned talent including: Irina Shayk, Kate Upton, Cameron Russell, Stella Maxwell, and Karen Elson.
From 12pm to 8pm, Universal Standard will also be hosting an independent trunk show on location for guests to see, experience, and purchase pieces from the full collection in person.
