Imagine a world where you can demo your nail polish shade before you step foot in the salon. Well ladies, there’s an app for that. Say Buh-Bye to the mounting frustration of testing 50 shades or more at the nail shop in search of the perfect color, and Hello to our newest beauty #inspo find. Just released last month, the #1 nail care brand in the U.S., Sally Hansen, announced the introduction of its augmented reality technology via the ManiMatch App.

Completely 3D, ManiMatch will simply scan the user’s hand from any iOS-friendly smartphone device. Sally Hansen’s cutting-edge and proprietary technology will then analyze the pigment in the user’s hand, and then match polish-shade suggestions based off of the tones most flattering to the skin. It’s as simple as that. No photo-taking, selfies, or time-consuming upload procedures. Yay. Sally Hansen ManiMatch App Phone

“The app is addictive; everyone who tries it can’t stop herself from checking out more options,” says Jeremy Lowenstein, Sally Hansen Global Marketing Vice President. “The fact that you see exactly how a color will look on your own hands is just pure fun – and incredibly useful. People end up experimenting with shades they’d never normally try.”

ManiMatch is available for download for free on iOS platforms, with select Android devices to receive the app later in the fall. With over 200 Sally Hansen nail polish shades, customers are able to digitally test out the product in real time with the decision to purchase to follow.

“The innovative technology uses bespoke skin tone analysis and an algorithm to map the hand,” says Kristen D’Arcy, Global Digital Vice President. “It tracks the individual nuances of the user’s hands, analyzes skin tone, finds the nail beds, and photo-realistically simulates our nail polish shades, with shine: the finished manicure appears instantly on the user’s hand.”

And there you have it, at least until the next techno-savvy device is released. It’s manis made easy by Sally Hansen — saving you time, loads of irritation, and a hassle-free, noncommital way to live outside your nail color box. Have a little fun and be inspired with our latest discovery in beauty finds.
